The Calligraphy Advent Calendars are currently a Student Exclusive and not yet on general release.
Our motto is “once a student, always a student.” Every Modern Scribe student — from those just beginning The Budding Calligrapher course to our advanced alumni — receives first access to our special releases.

From the Modern Scribe studio come two limited-edition Advents — Ink Advent and Project Advent — designed to bring a little beauty to each December day.
The Ink Advent features seven liquid inks (four never released before), four solid ink cakes in Christmas Lights, and a hand-blown Magi glass bottle holder and pen rest — the centrepiece of the collection. Worth £158.
The Project Advent grew from last year’s most-loved gifts: creative, hands-on projects that capture the spirit of the season. Inside are twelve beautifully packaged projects — from Christmas cards to ornaments and gift tags — each inviting you to slow down and make something worth sharing. A handmade watercolour dot palette is included for experimenting with brush calligraphy and watercolour to complement your pointed pen work. Worth £148.
Each is a 12-day calendar, or open them together for a full 24-day Advent experience.
£120 each, or £190 for both (save £50).

*Please note — the Advent Calendars are most suited to those with some foundational calligraphy skills. They are primarily designed for Modern Scribe students who have either completed or are in the process of completing the beginners’ course, The Budding Calligrapher. The calendars do not come with a pointed pen set up.
The Calendars will go on general release later in November (if any remain!).
In previous years, Calendars have been so popular that numbers have not made it past student release in order to go on general release — just to manage expectations.
